For many children, the cure for their disease is not as simple as taking antibiotics. They require changes to their very genetic information, a process known as genetic therapy.

Genetic Disorders, as these diseases are called, affect millions of people worldwide. In addition, all genetic disorders are life-threatening, and require constant treatments just to manage the symptoms.

Individuals afflicted with these diseases can never hope to live a normal life, and likely will have to receive thousands of treatments throughout their lifetime in order to stay alive.

Thus, genetic therapy seeks to permanently fix this illnesses, allowing those millions of people to live healthy, normal lives.

For most adults, viruses and bacteria tend to make us sick.

However, some children are born with faulty DNA that makes them sick.
